CURRICULUM
Primary Prep's curriculum is designed to teach students the state standards that are necessary for them to be successful in Kindergarten. It is a theme based curriculum that was designed by Michelle Manning owner and operator of the Academy of Brighter Children over 25 years ago. It is supplemented by the Saxon Early Learning Curriculum. All students are also introduced to the Handwriting Without Tears writing program.
Each day our classes rotate through each center participating in activities and lessons that support the weekly theme and are appropriate for each age group. In each center the weekly letter and number is incorporated.
CENTERS

VPK CURRICULUM
The VPK curriculum also follows our theme based curriculum, and it is supplemented by the Saxon Early Learning Curriculum. As the pre-k students travel through each center they focus on Kindergarten readiness. The Saxon Early Learning Curriculum meets the Florida state standards and benchmarks.
The Saxon Early Learning Curriculum is a fully integrated, comprehensive early childhood curriculum. It is carefully designed to support 36 weeks of teacher-guided, sequenced, classroom instruction and learning-center activities. Lessons integrate concepts in language and early literacy development, mathematics, science, social studies, fine arts, health and safety, personal and social development, physical development, and technology. The curriculum provides transitional language support for English-language learners. The content is aligned with multiple sets of pre-k guidelines for the state of Florida.
VPK Writing
Writing is a key component to your child’s preparation for kindergarten. Our VPK students learn to write using the “Handwriting Without Tears” writing program.
